Self-Monitoring

If you’re diagnosed with hypertension, one element of your treatment may include something called self-monitoring. Your provider may ask you to check your own blood pressure at home in order to determine how you are responding to a medication or lifestyle change. Self-monitoring allows you to check your blood pressure several times each day, and to keep track of it over a specific period of time. Your provider can probably suggest a reasonably priced, reliable home monitor for you to buy.
